A Lifelong Republican Ex-Judge Just Called For Trump’s ImpeachmentNow about impeachment. Is it still a Democrat thing or is it an American thing.Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.
It is no longer arguable that the 2016 Presidential election is free or fair. It was not. Rather interference by Russia and the FBI likely had a significant impact on the result. This event is unprecedented in US history. There is no Constitutional provision or precedent for how to proceed. Nonetheless it is time to address it. Trump is clearly an illegitimate President (never mind his incompetence) and should be removed. A second election is one possibility as is reconvening the electoral college. Whatever the remedy, the current situation is intolerable.
