Trumplandia today Sunday Feb 5

In an effort to keep this post a bit shorter I'm going to start summarizing daily.  Herewith Sunday's outrages, lies, foolishness, and other notably stupid or foolish things from Trumplandia.
  1. The complete list of all 33 false things Donald Trump has said as president so far
  2. New York subway riders get together to clean Nazi from subway car
  3. Trump’s defense of Putin and assertion of moral equivalency between Putin’s regime and the U.S. (in an interview aired today) has caused a firestorm among congressional Republicans.
  4. President Donald Trump’s efforts to find any kind of support for his unconstitutional Muslim “travel” ban apparently include dabbling in the “fake news” he complains about so often. Except unlike the New York Times and CNN, Trump is actually peddling Islamophobic conspiracy theories and lies to his followers. Foreign Minister Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah issued this statement in response to Trump’s fake news: “Kuwait categorically denies these claims and affirms that these reported nationalities…have big communities in Kuwait and enjoy full rights. The State of Kuwait believes that granting of visa [sic] is a sovereign matter, and is not linked to terrorism or violence or nationality or faith.”
  5. Trump's truly jaw-dropping tweet from Saturday morning: "The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned!"
  6. A U.S. appeals court has denied the Justice Department’s request to immediately reinstate President Donald J. Trump’s refugee and immigration ban.
  7. Swastika scrawlings unnerve three US cities
  8. #NoDAPL protest in Los Angeles where people are protesting against Trump’s executive order to resume Dakota Access and Keystone XL pipelines construction.
  9. President Donald J. Trump says the roll out of his "wonderful" health care policy proposal could take until next year, but Americans can expect tax cuts in 2017.
  10. An appeals court has denied the justice department’s request for an immediate reinstatement of Donald Trump’s controversial travel ban.
  11. Quotes from Trumps superbowl interview:
    1. ‘You think our country is so innocent?'
    2. Trump still wasn’t against the Iraq war ‘from the beginning’
    3. ‘Sanctuary cities breed crime’
    4. ‘Many people’ say Trump’s right about massive voter fraud
    5. Non-citizens on voter rolls is a ‘really bad situation’
    6. ‘Obamacare is a disaster’
    7. Trump continued his criticism of the Iran Deal, saying "We gave them $1.7 billion in cash, which is unheard of, and we put the money up and we have really nothing to show for it.

Tweet of the day

I do not really follow twitter but occassiounally there is a great one.

Dumbest Trumplandian statement of the day

Likely Trump pick to head the Food and Drug Administration, Jim O’Neill, says companies should not have to prove that their drugs work in clinical trials before selling them to consumers. “Let people start using them, at their own risk,” O’Neill said. “Let’s prove efficacy after they’ve been legalized.”

Special award for most needless controversy of the day

President Donald Trump has brought about some confusion regarding Black History Month. Since 1976, each president has declared February as a month celebrating black history. But today, Trump has taken credit for changing the name to “National African American History Month,” after deciding black was "outdated" and that “African American” was the more politically correct term, an administration official reportedly told TMZ.
